Sonja and Edward’s New Orleans wedding at the Cabildo and Marche
Emily Sullivan helped put together a fabulous affair for this beautiful couple. As always, Emily helped produce a wedding for the ages! This celebration was definitely one to remember. Our day started out at the Loew’s Hotel in downtown New Orleans covering Sonja and her squad in one of the Loew’s suites. When I first saw the emerald bridesmaids dresses, I knew it was going to be a fun day. It’s not often we see green bridesmaids dresses, and I was in love! Evidently, Instagram was in love too based on how many times Sonja and her lovely bridesmaids pics have been shared- well over 500,000 likes across multiple accounts. Obviously, Sonja is a very stylish bride! I mean- check out her details. The shoes, oh my, the shoes!
We met up with Edward and his buys at the JW Marriott, and of course- they were just as stylish. These guys were extremely polite, true gentleman.
The ceremony was held at the Cabildo, which is a Louisiana museum located right next door to St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. The views from the cabildo are truly iconic, and on this day- St Patrick’s Day parade filled the streets beneath us, adding to the festive atmosphere. After the moving ceremony, I was able to take Sonja and Edward to the roof of the Cabildo fora few very unique shots overlooking St Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square.
Once we made our way down to the street- a 2nd line jazz parade escorted the guests to Marche. This was our first time photographing a wedding at Marche, it’s a lovely venue! We look forward to photographing many more weddings there, the views are fantastic and the staff was on point. As the celebration continued, Edward let the guest know that he had a little surprise for everyone. On that note, Juvenile (Cash Money), came in and performed a couple of his hits- everyone’s jaws were on the floor. It was definitely a moment they will never forget as Juvie proved he still has it.
