Jheri and Matthew’s Natchez Wedding.
“Matthew and I were both raised in Natchez. During the early 2000s, our paths crossed on a daily basis for a solid eight years as we walked the halls of Trinity Episcopal School together. Not once in that period of time did we utter a word to one another. Matthew was the jock–obsessed with every single sport on the planet. Me on the other hand–I was the girl determined to both achieve the highest ACT score possible and run faster than any other distance racer in the state. Flash forward another eight years to the summer of 2016. Matthew slipped into my Instagram inbox, and the rest is history. When we decided to get married in Natchez, we knew we wanted a church wedding. For years, I had envisioned a December ceremony in my home church (FBC Natchez) with the sanctuary draped in greenery and a coffee bar at the reception. As an Alabama fan, I had also vowed to have the SEC championship playing at my reception. Little did I know that I would end up marrying a football coach and taking on the revered title of “coach’s wife.” Overall, we want our wedding to be a joyous celebration of our love. We’ll have a fancy tailgate–complete with chandeliers–going on outside under an enormous pole tent and an elegant jazz-enhanced reception taking place inside the church’s parlor. It’s the best of both worlds–simple yet sophisticated–exactly our style.”
