I met up with Lauren and Jacob for a fun filled afternoon. We kept an eye on the weather all day, dodging a few storms and covering up with ponchos when needed. When we arrived at the location where we photographed them on the bike, we were met with a fine mist and a small burst of sun peeking through the clouds- it was like the stars aligned for a great shot! Although we normally don’t encourage an engagement shoot in the rain, sometimes- it just works out perfectly. Especially if you are a fan of “The Notebook”!
A. We met when I was working at an after (high) school job at a small animal veterinary hospital and Jacob was working at a horse hospital. A colleague who worked at both locations wanted to go horseback riding, but didn’t want to go alone. She told me that a guy at her other work had offered to take us, and since I had been riding horses since I was a child, she asked me to come along. So we met riding horses! That was in 2002, but we didn’t actually start dating until 2003… yep 11 years!
Q. Tell us about the proposal. We want all the details!
A. We were at Jacob’s mother’s house for christmas. His entire family was there. After we had finished opening presents, I looked over and he was on one knee with a ring. He asked me if I would marry him. I was so surprised I started to cry and so did he (so cute, haha) Of course I said yes!
