It’s always an honor to photograph any member of our armed forces, especially on their wedding day. Before we begin this blog post, we’d like to thank Brett for his service in the U.S. Marines. Be sure to check out Celina and Brett’s story in their own words on their engagement session post where Celina was a guest contributor. (They are also bloggers, be sure to check out www.mycajuntrinity.com to see some amazing DIY projects and life stories).
We asked Celina to tell us a little about what she envisioned for her wedding day, here’s what she had to say:
” There are three really special details we will be including in our ceremony.
Since Brett is a United State’s Marine Corps Veteran, I knew I wanted to include his dress blues on our wedding day. I have such a soft spot in my heart for our military men and women, and I’m so proud of him for serving our nation for six years. He along with his brother and one other groomsmen will be wearing there dress blues that day. We will also be exiting the church to the Marine Corps Hymn.
Since my brother recently was ordained as an Acolyte with the Catholic church, Brett and I decided to ask him to assist our Priest with the ceremony. My brother has been an amazing role model my entire life, so it brings me so much joy that he will have such a prominent role during the ceremony.
And last, but not least, we will be honoring Brett’s father’s life throughout the ceremony that day. His dad recently passed away this past October. Before his death, Mr. Mike handed down his wedding ring to Brett so that we could use during our own ceremony. So, even though he will not be with us physically, he will most definitely be part of the ceremony in spirit.
Since I was 5 years old I’ve always wanted a classic wedding. I tried my best to stay away from Pinterest and DIY projects in order to keep the decor simple and basic. I didn’t want to look back on my wedding day 20 years from now only to realize it was too trendy towards that time era. Classic, timeless, and simple decisons were my inspiration from day one. I hope it’s delivered well.“
